Dr. Who and the Walls 'Sky Ray' Space Raiders

A 1967 TV commercial for the Walls 'Sky Ray' ice lolly

This promotion offered a set of 36 picture-cards featuring a 'Troughton-esque'
Doctor working with the 'Sky Ray Space Raiders' to battle the Daleks.

There was also an album to collect the cards in :
the Dr Who's Space Adventure Book.

This 28 page album contained some colouring-in pages, games,
and diagrams in addition to its central feature - a short story: Daleks Invade Zaos.
The 36 cards helped to illustrate the story,
and could also be used to play a simplistic
'Space Raiders Battle' game.

'The Doctor' - not 'Doctor Who'?

It is interesting to see just how many Whovians become irate
when someone refers to the Time Lord as:
'Doctor Who'.

Yet having watched the series from the late 60's, I - like a great many others - grew up with the understanding that there was no problem referring to the character as 'Doctor Who' - particularly as, for the first eighteen years of the original series (and then again in the first year of the modern series), as well as being called 'The Doctor', the Time Lord was very widely referred to as "Doctor Who" (or: Dr. Who") by the BBC themselves.

It is how he was identified in the programme's end-credits.
It is also
how he was identified by:

The shows original creators,

Several of its Producers (including the sainted Verity Lambert),

Script writers,

Production-paperwork compilers,

Actors who played Classic-era incarnations of the Time Lord,

The BBC Radio Times listings guide editors and feature writers,

The editors of the classic-era Who Annuals,

The editors of Classic-era who Novelisations,
and so on.

And, contrary to what many would have us believe, for the majority of the 'Classic Era' and beyond, the Time Lord was also commonly referred to as 'Doctor Who' by the general public, by the British press, and more importantly, by many fans:

Some 'Whovian Social History':
Numerous press clippings etc,
which include reference (however brief) to the Time Lord as 'Doctor Who'

Rewritten ...

“... thing is, Amy, everyone’s memory is a mess.
Life is a mess. Everyone’s got memories of a
holiday they couldn’t have been on, or a party
they never went to, or met someone for the first
time and felt like they’ve known them all their lives.
Time is being rewritten all around us, every day..."
                                                                                                                     - The Doctor
                                                                                                                        (Mini-episode: “Good Night”)

So it got me thinking:

At Trenzalore, the Great Intelligence jumps into the Doctor's time-stream and starts changing things.
Then Clara jumps into the time-stream, and attempts to rectify things.
Then the Doctor jumps in, and apparently the time-stream starts collapsing in on itself.

And after all this, Clara sees a face she hasn't seen before - in any of her myriad incarnations:
The One who broke the Promise. The One who did what he did in the name of Peace and Sanity.

Well, what if, the reason she hadn't seen him before was simply because he had never existed
- until that final moment?

“TIME IS BEING REWRITTEN ALL AROUND US, EVERY DAY.”
